Medfield is Our Hometown
Medfield, a town rich in history, was established in 1649 and incorporated as a town in 1651 by 13 settlers from Dedham, which Medfield was originally a part of. Medfield was founded by the Reverend Ralph Wheelock, the first schoolmaster in the town. Today an elementary school in the town is named after him. The town purchased the historical Dwight-Derby House in 1996. Built in 1651, it is one of the top ten oldest homes in America. The town's Historical Society was established in 1891 and is considered the oldest town historical society in the Commonwealth.
